The University of Washington celebrated its sesquicentennial in 2011 and the Alumni Association marked the occasion with a new environmental graphics program for the Alumni Commons. The space embodies “Husky Pride”—tracing the University’s legacy, highlighting the achievements and community impact of its diverse alumni, and proudly looking toward its future. Components include a timeline wall of past achievements, a People Wall featuring images and reflections from the UW community, a back-lit Gold Wall with typographic statements about the University’s goals and values, and a large-scale graphic of Mount Rainier—composed entirely of the University’s brand mark ‘W’—that references the iconic view from campus.
